It’s true that ‘good things come in small packages.’ But, there are times when you wish you were taller than what you are. I understand! I wish I was a little taller too. Especially when I go out shopping and find the perfect pair of denim pants and realize I’d have to get them altered – at least 3 inches need to go. There is nothing wrong with being short but there is no harm in trying to style yourself to look taller!
Did you know that Megan Fox, Naomi Watts, Mila Kunis, etc. are all shorter than 5’5″? Of course, they don’t look short because of the way they style and carry their outfits. Yes, even you can do so too. There are many ways in which you can style yourself to look taller. Wearing heels is one of them, but that’s not what I am talking about. Even if you are a converse and flats kinda girl, I have listed here some really cool ways you can style yourself to look taller!

5 easy-breezy ways to style yourself to look taller –
Flared denim/pants
Well, Gigi Hadid has shown us that bell bottoms have made a comeback (.) And, even if you don’t follow Gigi, you should get a pair if you want to look taller than you are. Flares give an illusion of longer legs and work well with fitted, tucked in tops! They’d look even better if they aren’t low waist but slightly high-waisted.
Maxi skirts
Vertical Stripes
Wear all one color
Pointy flats
It’s not a must for you to wear heels to appear taller. You can easily style yourself to look taller by wearing pointed flats. Pointed shoes make your leg line seem taller. Opt for pointed shoes that have a low-cut vamp. High vamps make your feet look thicker and shorter.
Aren’t these 5 ways amazing? You can now easily style yourself to look taller. No more wearing painful pencil heels and stilettos all day long just to add a few extra inches to your height. My personal favorite way of appearing taller is wearing stripes. And, pointed shoes definitely look stylish! You might want to pin this post!

Interesting. I’ve never really thought about how to look taller but it wouldn’t hurt since I’m only 5’5.

LOVE these tips, going to invest in some vertical stripes! Took reading this to realize that I don’t have any!
Vertical stripes not only help you look taller, they, in my opinion, are a great style! I love stripes 🙂
These are fantastic ideas as I’d love to talk taller, the only trouble with looking taller is that it will probably make me look slimmer (which I don’t think would be a good thing). Do you have any suggestions for this? Thanks! ????
Hey! If you want to look tall without looking slimmer, I’d suggest you invest in some high-waisted well fitted pants. Low waist pants tend to make one look thinner. Also, peplum tops are a great way to look fuller and accentuate your curves. Even off-shoulder tops help give your waist a nice, fuller shape. Hope that helps 🙂
Ahhh that’s fab advice! Thank you sooo much 🙂 ????
Great styling tips – I never thought wearing a mxi skirt would make me look taller! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks a lot for the comment Carrie. Most people believe that maxi skirts make them look shorter but if styled correctly, they can actually make you seem taller than what you actually are 🙂
I’ve always been the tallest person in most crowds, but this is interesting even for me to read. My daughter, who’s only eleven, is on the same track as she’s already 5’9″. I’m sure we’ll be needing help to make ourselves look shorter, soon!
Oh my! You are blessed with height! I would definitely love to do a post on how to look shorter soon 🙂
